What Winter Looks Like - January

Welcome to the first edition of "What ____ Looks Like."  This is a monthly photography project in which we will have a new theme every month.  This month's theme is "winter".   I actually ended up taking all of these pictures on the ONLY day it has snowed this year.  I love a good winter snow...

Every snow day must end with a nice warm cup of hot chocolate.  Check out these special mugs that Grandma has... "What's at the bottom of the well?"

...a frog?! :)

10 on 10 (January)

I am excited to introduce you to a new photography project that I am participating in this year through the bloom forum.  This project is entitled "10 on 10" because it originated from an idea to capture 10 photos throughout one day and post it on the 10th of every month.  This project is fun and challenging for me because the goal is to capture candid, everyday life moments.  This style of photography is often referred to as "lifestyle" photography.  I have found that this is the type of photography I am drawn to the most, unposed and full of life.

Here is a peek into my day earlier this week:

Some days I am lucky and my oldest wakes up actually wanting his picture taken...today was one of those days!

We headed out to an indoor playground (so thankful for these in the winter time!)

After naptime the boys had fun playing "doctor", they were hilarious to watch...and my oldest surprised me by actually knowing what to do with each instrument in his doctor kit.

Daddy sent a text saying that he was on his way home...

It didn't take long for these two to start making funny faces at me in the window...goofs

I love this sweet lil man.

Relaxing by an evening fire

Ending the day with a good book..."The Wheels On The Bus..."

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out this new amazing group of photographers starting with: Christy Tower | Christina Tower Photography, Spring Grove, IL Portrait Photographer.

Project 52 Wk 52

"the end"

I am so grateful to all of the wonderful photographers in this group who have encouraged me week after week.  I have learned so much this year from participating in this project 52 group and have loved getting to know all of you.  This project forced me to get out my camera frequently and I could not be more happy about the results.  I look back at this years photos and think, "I'm so glad I have these moments documented."

While this is the last week of project 52, i'm so excited to be starting new photography projects in 2013!  Stay Tuned! :)

Project 52 Wk 49

"motion"

My goal for this week was to play around with a slower shutter speed (something i've never really tried before) and try to capture the activity of my kids.  Instead, I ended up with a sleeping baby.  Children sure do look angelic while they sleep don't they?

Next up this week is the incredible:  Heather Robinson - Durham, NC

"small"

I caught this expression on my lil guys face while watching the elephants at the zoo.  I think he was feeling "small"...
